Chinatown Recap

I wanted to start off with a new tradition we introduced last month at Chinatown. Each month, we are taking a group photo of everyone in attendance at TNT. Christy snagged this one for us on top of the bar and man, look at that crowd. As you can tell, we had a great turn out and everyone was ready for some serious pouring.

Our April TNT Champ, Brian from PT’s in Philly, was unable to make the trek down and judge for us so we swapped for another Bryan from Counter Culture Coffee, Caitlin from the host Chinatown Coffee (left), and Alegra from Filter Coffeehouse (right).

Smiling faces all around with Amy (left), Chris (center), and this month’s winner Travis (right). Travis from Peregrine Espresso has been on quite a coffee high lately. In April, he competed in the USBC, made finals, and finished 6th place in the nation. Sprudge.com had a nice interview with Travis after Portland, recapping his great run. I’m pretty sure the trophy shelf at Peregrine is getting a little full. Congrats to Travis and all that competed. As one of the judges, I can honestly say that the bar keeps rising and this city has some of the best baristas in the nation! Check out more photos on Flickr and see you next month.
